This summer, our Yuzucello stepped out of the distillery and onto the bar, and we’re proud to share that it has been featured in Broadsheet as part of Serves of State, a statewide celebration of Victorian-made spirits.
Run in partnership with Vic Distilled, Serves of State pairs local distilleries with leading bars across Melbourne and Geelong, inviting bartenders to create limited-edition cocktails using Victorian spirits only. The result is a snapshot of just how creative, diverse and confident the local spirits scene has become.
From distillery to drinks list
As part of the program, Bar Ampere has crafted a summer-ready cocktail built around Yuzucello, pouring it spritz-style with prosecco for a bright, punchy serve designed for warm evenings and long sips. It is a fresh expression of Yuzucello that highlights its citrus character while letting it shine in a bar setting.
The Yuzucello Spritz at Bar Ampere
As poured at Bar Ampere during Serves of State, this spritz-style cocktail is light, citrus-forward and easy to enjoy. Here’s the exact recipe if you’d like to recreate it at home.
Recipe
- 30 mL Rothwell Yuzucello
- 80 mL Fever-Tree Lime & Yuzu Soda
- 80 mL prosecco
- Pinch of salt
- Sprig of fresh rosemary
Method
Add the Yuzucello, a pinch of salt, soda and prosecco to a tall glass filled with ice. Stir gently to combine, then garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary.
Celebrating Victorian spirits
Victoria is now home to more than 180 small-batch distilleries, many producing spirits that rival the world’s best. Serves of State brings that talent together, giving drinkers the chance to experience local spirits in new ways while supporting Victorian producers and venues at the same time.
We’re excited to be included alongside so many great distilleries and bars, and to see Yuzucello recognised as part of the broader conversation around modern Australian spirits.
